CastleVilla 2-2 Trim Town
An unprecedented comeback from 0-2 down with a man down after twenty minutes.
CastleVilla fought back to claim a deserved draw and with a bit of luck could have claimed all the red points in an exciting team performance.
The host started well and created some good chances but the visitors struck first with a great effort into the top left corner. Shortly afterwards they got a second after some dodgy off side calls.
Then came the sending off as Luke Mulholland received a second yellow and headed for an early shower. This was the catalyst for the home team as sleeves were physically and metaphorically rolled up. Sam McNslly and Lochlann O’Reilly began to get a foothold in midfield despite the numerical disadvantage. Dylan Hargan, Ryan Halpin and Rowland O’Reilly were exerting huge pre on the visitors defence.
Midway through the first half Rowland controlled a long ball on the edge of the box and laid it off to McNally who unleashed a rocket which swerved into the box clipping the upright on its way to hive the keeper no chance. 1-2 halftime
Heads were calmed and Villa took full control of the game second half and kept creating chances but the final piece was missing
Adam McNally, Eoin Kane , Leo Fitzgerald, Asian and Nathan Byrne all joined the fight for Villa.
New addition Kieran Kiwi Doyle was immense and won two tackles before flighting a beautiful ball into Kane to nod home the equaliser to high home delight. Villa pressed for the winner but the ball wouldn’t drop for Adam McNally to get a deserved winner.
Villa had to settle for a draw. Huge performance from all sixteen players to fight back to get a point. Outstanding effort
